Technology has revolutionized how people perform tasks, whether in an ordinary field or as networking professionals. For example, do you know how difficult it was for a networking expert to check DNS propagation?
They have to run complex command prompts for every single one. But now, using the tools powered by the latest technology, they can check DNS with a single click. One popular tool that makes this process easier is DNSChecker.org. However, it is not just limited to checking DNS propagation.
DNSChecker.org is like a toolkit for those involved in networking, web design, or development work. Many subtools are available on the platform, each helping users differently.
In this post, we are going to review various tools on DNSChecker.org. Stick along to learn how these can be useful for you.
Reviewing the Top 6 Tools by DNSChecker.org
When we write this post, DNSChecker.org offers 50+ tools, each offering a different functionality to users. Before writing this review, a team of dedicated professionals from our office tested every tool this website provides.
During this testing, we found most of its tools functional and giving accurate outputs. In a few among them, there’s room for improvement. However, we are here to review six tools of DNSChecker.org that we think are the best in their respective niche.
So, let’s get started.
1. DNS Propagation Checker

DNS Propagation Checker – The flagship tool by DNSChecker.org lets users check whether their DNS records are propagated around the globe. Using this free DNS propagation checking service, users can check how their domain query is being resolved around different locations worldwide.
The process for checking the records is also straightforward. All one needs is to enter the domain name inside the input box, select the relevant record, and hit the search button. Within seconds, they will get the results in front of them.
Pros | Cons |
Provides a visual map representation. Support multiple record types. Let users add a custom DNS server. Also, available as a mobile app and browser extension. | Only provide results for DNS that are open to the public. Those that are set to private cannot be checked using this tool. |
2. MAC Address Lookup

The next tool that caught our attention on the platform is MAC Address Lookup, which every network expert needs. This tool lets users find the manufacturer details and the addresses registered under a vendor’s name.
To perform a MAC Address Lookup, a user must enter the device’s MAC address or vendor’s name inside the input box and hit the search button.
We tested the tool with both to assess whether the results are accurate. Firstly, we provided it with a device MAC address to get the manufacturer details.
Fortunately, the tool provided us with the essential information, i.e., address prefix, vendor’s name, company address, block details, registration history, etc. A screenshot is shared below so that you can review it for yourself.

Pros | Cons |
Utilizes a vast database of MAC Addresses registered with IEEE. Let users download the results. Performs both the MAC search and Vendor search. | No bulk checking functionality is available. |
3. IP Address Lookup

Next is the IP Address Lookup tool, which you can use to get real-time information associated with any IP address. This information includes things like:
- Country
- City
- ISP
- Geographic coordinates
To check an IP address’s location, you have to input the respective IP address into the tool. The tool will instantly provide your real-time location based on coordinates available in four geo IP databases.
We tried this for an IP address, and below is the data it provided us with at that time.

Pros | Cons |
Provide results along with a real-time location pinpoint on the map.One-click operation, just enter the IP address and hit the IP lookup search button. No sign-up is needed. | You can only check one IP location at a time. No multiple entry option is available at the time. |
4. DNS Lookup

The next feature that got our attention on the platform is DNS Lookup. Using this tool, a user can get all the information related to the DNS records of a particular domain.
This DNS Lookup tool currently retrieves DNS records data from different servers around the globe, including:
- Cloudflare
- OpenDNS
- Quad9
- Yandex
- Authoritative DNS
To check the DNS records of a domain, all one needs to do is enter that domain address inside the input box, select a server, and select the record they want to check. Users can also check all the records simultaneously, like we did for a domain in the picture below.

Pros | Cons |
Users can copy and download records in two formats, i.e., Text Form and Markdown format. Allows query of DNS records against multiple global servers. High accuracy in fetching DNS records, i.e., A, AAAA, CNAME, MX, NS, PTR, SRV, SOA, TXT, CAA, DS, and DNSKEY. | Like the previous one, it also lacks batch processing functionality. A user can only check the DNS records of one domain at a time. |
5. QR Code Scanner

“The best things come to those who wait – Violet Fane”
QR Code Scanner by DNSChecker.org is the one we like most on the platform. Why so? There are two reasons behind this “why”.
Firstly, the demand for this tool. It’s 2025, and QR codes are being used everywhere, from discount offers to checkouts, restaurant menus, paying bills, and many more. As per statistics we found online, in 2025, 41.77 million QR codes are being scanned.
QR scanners are vital for scanning many codes because not every smartphone has a built-in scanner.
The second reason we liked this tool so much is its accuracy compared to others. As a tool website, we test many such tools daily, so after using it, this QR code scanner is among the best.
This tool gives users two different functionalities to get the information embedded inside a QR code. They can scan the code live using their device camera or upload one directly to the tool.
To demonstrate, we uploaded a QR code on this tool with a website address embedded inside it. The tool has successfully provided us with the exact information we embedded in milliseconds (screenshot attached below for your review).

Pros | Cons |
Multiple decoding options, i.e., live scan and manual upload. Decode the information quickly and accurately. No particular scanner or specialized device is needed. | Lacks batch processing, which is not a common need. |
6. Reverse Image Search

The last tool discussed in this post is Reverse Image Search by DNSChecker.org. This tool is used by many audiences searching for the source of an image, citation, or similar images. Not only this, but it also lets users find relevant images by adding keywords.
To perform a reverse image search, one must upload the image to the tool and choose a search engine. Users can also submit a URL to perform a reverse image search if the image is available online. The tool will direct users to the selected search engine for results upon searching.

To assess whether the tool provides exact source and relevant images, we provided it with an infographic available online on Google. Happily, it presented the source from which we downloaded that infographic (screenshot attached below).

FYI: This tool is integrated with the image search feature of different search engines. All the results provided directly come from the selected search engine.
Pros | Cons |
Multiple search methods, i.e., image upload, URL submission, and entering keywords. Integrated with four popular search platforms: Google, Bing, Yandex, and TinEye. | Again, no batch processing functionality. Plus, for results, users are being directed to external platforms. |
Wrapping Up
DNSChecker.org is a toolkit that is helpful for many, as mentioned earlier. Yet, many tools available relate to IT professionals, but many, like QR code scanners and reverse image search, are a common need. Six of the above-reviewed tools by the platform are the best in their niche. We still have not tested many, as the platform keeps adding new tools to its inventory. So, we can only vouch for the six we reviewed and can say if you ever come in need, try them out. They’ll help you get the job done.
